The Sexual Harassment Committee (SHC) is constituted to ensure a safe and respectful learning and working environment for all students, faculty, and staff. The committee is committed to preventing and addressing any form of sexual harassment in accordance with the guidelines of the Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal) Act, 2013.
The SHC handles cases related to:
Unwelcome sexual advances, verbal or non-verbal conduct of a sexual nature.
Offensive comments, jokes, or gestures causing discomfort.
Any form of sexual harassment or gender-based discrimination.
Inappropriate physical contact or advances.
Hostile environment created by such behavior affecting the dignity of an individual.
Awareness and Sensitization: Conduct regular workshops, seminars, and training programs to create awareness about sexual harassment laws.
Grievance Redressal:Receive complaints of sexual harassment in a confidential and sensitive manner.
Preventive Measures: Suggest policy reforms and preventive actions to create a harassment-free environment.
Submission of Complaint:Complaints can be submitted in writing or through the Online Grievance Portal.
Initial Review: The committee acknowledges the receipt of the complaint within 3 working days.
Inquiry and Investigation: The SHC conducts a thorough inquiry within 15 working days.
Final Decision: The committee submits its findings and recommendations to the institution's head for necessary action.
